Service Description

Manual Lymph Drainage to treat the body post surgery. MLD is feather light touch with the intention of speeding up lymph node activity. After surgery there is a natural increase in fluid retention, this is swelling. The Lymphatic system is a pressure system and daily the lymph nodes pulsate, picking up excessive fluid and waste from the tissues. When there is injury, inflammation or imbalance in the body, the lymph system is directly affected. This causes the lymph nodes to get sluggish and slow down, not filtering fulid and waste as efficiently. MLD treatments condition the lymph system to work at that efficient pace again, dramatically reducing swelling, pain/discomfort. It's also extremely meditative and relaxing.
